Lighter Days Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 30, 2026

In short: I don’t collect any data through Lighter Days. Your photos and marks stay on your iPhone. The app has no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking.

Lighter Days is made by Michał Płachta, who is responsible for this policy. Contact: miciek@gmail.com.

Your photos

With your permission, the app reads your photo library to show the photos you took on a date and moves the photos you confirm to Recently Deleted. It doesn’t upload your photos anywhere. If you use iCloud Photos, iOS may download photos from your iCloud library when the app shows them.

What is saved on your iPhone

The app saves your marks, reviewed moments, kept photos, place names, measured file sizes, removal totals and settings. This data stays in the app’s storage on your iPhone and can be included in your iPhone’s backups. Deleting the app removes it, but doesn’t affect your photos.

Place names

To show where a moment happened, the app sends the location stored in that photo to Apple’s geocoding service, which returns a place name. This goes directly to Apple and never reaches me. Apple’s Privacy Policy applies. Photos without a location aren’t sent, and no photo is ever sent.

Daily reminder

The reminder is optional and off by default. It’s scheduled on your iPhone, and its time is calculated there from the location of your latest geotagged photo. The app doesn’t ask for your current location.

Apple’s reports

Apple may share anonymous statistics with me about downloads and app use, and crash reports if you agreed to share them with app developers. You control this in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.

If you contact me

If you write to me, I’ll use your email address and message only to reply, and keep them only as long as that takes or as the law requires.

This website

These pages are separate from the app. The website uses Pirsch, a cookie-free analytics service, and loads fonts and icons from third-party services, which receive your IP address when you open a page.

Your rights and children

The app collects no data, so I hold nothing about you unless you write to me. If you’re in the EU, you can ask me to access, correct or delete anything I do hold, and you can complain to your data protection authority (in Poland, the UODO). The app isn’t directed at children and collects no data from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, I’ll update it here and change the date at the top.
